Our Story

We began our business as "The East West Trading Company" in Boston, MA in 1979. With an interest in Chinese medicinal herbs to propel us, we began selling bulk herbs at a small marketplace in Cambridge. Before long we expanded into the sale of essential oils which were just beginning to “make the scene” in the holistic healing community. The term ‘aromatherapy’ had yet to come into common usage. But from our experience with an expanding customer base we knew that the wearing of pure essential oils and high quality perfume oils contributed to a sense of  well-being in immeasurable ways. In 1980 we decided to move to Fillmore, CA and continue our mail order, wholesale and marketplace business there. Once there, we were fortunate enough to secure contracts with Army, Air Force and Navy base exchanges and proceeded to introduce our product lines to military personnel and retirees. We think we opened their eyes with our table displays of frankincense, amber and patchouli and many other more unusual fragrance commodities.

Our hope for the future is that we can continue to serve  our local Fillmore area community as well as online and phone clientele with finest quality fragrance and healing products. As we continue to  expand our knowledge of both realms we hope to even more effectively improve the quality of life and health of our customers.
